The Emerald pool

One of the top things to do in Krabi without a doubt, the Emerald pool is located just outside Krabi town in the neighboring district of Khlong Thom, about a 50 kilometer drive from downtown Krabi town.

The Emerald Pool is fast becoming one of the top places to visit in Krabi and for good reason. It’s a natural spring fed oasis in the middle of the jungle! The Emerald pool is managed by the national parks of Krabi, upon entering the park you’ll have a short 800 meter walk through beautiful lush jungle fringing some local streams running through lowland jungle patches.

The walk up to The Emerald pool is honestly one of the highlights to the whole experience of being at the park itself, as you’ll walk by numerous beautiful viewpoints overlooking stunning scenery. When you come to the Emerald pool itself you can walk around the pools perimeter finding your place to sit and change into swimming clothes, then dive in! The pool is a very comfortable temperature and crystal clear so come prepared to swim!

There is a small stream running into The Emerald pool, if you follow this pool you’ll be led to the popular Blue Pool, this pool has some truly stunning colors to it’s waters, but this is caused by the mineral content in it’s waters and not recommended to swim in due to this fact, but there are some great photos to take of it, so bring your camera.

The Emerald pool is a great activity in Krabi and if you’re looking for something to do in Krabi, this should be at the top of your list.

Due to the popularity here we recommend you arrive early (before 10am) so you can beat most crowds.

You can arrive on your own by motorbike or take a taxi.

Since the park is located inside of a national park there is an entrance fee of 200thb/person to enter, but this is a small price to pay for  time in such a beautiful place.
